Yankees look for fresh start against Angels

Having lost two of three games against the Baltimore Orioles (32-23 1st AL East) last week, the New York Yankees (26-30 4th AL East) will look to get a fresh start when they host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim beginning tonight at 6:05 at Yankee Stadium.

In the rubber game last night, the Orioles placed runners on first and second before mother nature called the game.  When it resumed, Francisco Pena singled to get on base, setting up Matt Weiters two out, two run single giving the Orioles a 3-1 lead for good.

CC Sabathia was spectacular in the loss, throwing 111 pitches in five innings before getting out of a jam by striking out Mark Trumbo with bases loaded.

“He battled,” said Yankees manager Joe Girardi of Sabathia. “He had to grind through getting us into the sixth inning. He threw a lot of pitches in the one inning — 37 pitches [in the third] — but I think he did a heck of a job.”

The Yankees kick off a four game series against the Angels of Los Angeles (26-30 4th AL West) beginning tonight at 6:05.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to grab yours today and help cheer on your New York Yankees!
