About

The 2009 NY Yankees opened the season in brand new digs, Yankee Stadium II which opened with the first pitch thrown in exhibition by Reggie Jackson and in the regular season by Yogi Berra. Though the stadium has been much maligned for the amount of home runs over the right field wall for everyone but the Yankees it seems.

The 09 Squad is off to a great start and is sitting at 54-37 and only 1 full game behind AL East Boston Red Sox. Many of the Yanks are having great seasons to include Mariano Rivera who recently recorded his 500th career save.

The Yankees recently acquired former Pittsburgh Pirate Infielder Erick Hinske who was a member of the 2007 Boston Red Sox championship team. The team’s pitching staff is well stocked with C. Sabathia, A. Burnett, J. Chamberlain, A. Pettitte, A. Aceves.

Ticket sales have been brisk for the new stadium and the fans are enjoying a season where the Yankees will vie for the AL East Title and for a shot at the Fall Classic. So be sure to go out and get your tickets and cheer on the Bronx Bombers to the World Series.
