As many fans of baseball know ( the New York Yankees in particular), Derek Jeter is not getting any younger and a search for his replacement is an ongoing concern for the Yankees ball club. Just don’t expect for the organization to enter a bidding war for Shortstop Stephen Drew.
Drew’s agent, Scott Boras, has stated that Drew can and will be willing to play multiple positions but the tweaking of the Yankee roster seems to have ended (at least any major moves) with the acquisition of Masahiro Tanaka to a seven year, $155 million.
“Stephen is a great shortstop,” Boras said. “Teams have called us about Stephen and said that he would be an excellent second baseman or third baseman, and we don’t disagree.
